London: The Non-Resident Nepali Association’s (NRNA) International Coordination Council (ICC) held a meeting on Saturday, August 17, 2024.
According to General Secretary Gouriraj Joshi, the meeting decided to form a high-level committee under the leadership of Vice President Dr. Hem Raj Sharma to ensure the grand success of the upcoming ‘NRNA Day and Annual General Assembly’ scheduled for October in Kathmandu.
The virtual meeting was chaired by the association’s President, Dr. Badri K.C., and was attended by central office bearers, ICC members, advisors, and officials from the national committees.
The meeting also decided to form a ‘Unity Committee’ under the leadership of President Dr. K.C. to maintain unity within the organization.
Many speakers at the meeting welcomed the Supreme Court’s decision, which validated the executive committee elected during the association’s 11th general convention. They emphasized accelerating the organization’s activities and decided to complete the Taskforce within the next 15 days.
Furthermore, the meeting formed a committee under Vice President Roshan Thapa’s leadership with the aim of encouraging Non-Resident Nepalis to participate in national sports events.
Participants discussed various issues, including Non-Resident Nepali citizenship, national identity cards, regional conferences of the association, and the activities of national committees. The meeting also decided to start distributing registered memberships to the NRNA’s national committees.
The meeting expressed gratitude to Vice President Rozina Pradhan Rai, Secretary Tika Gurung, and Assistant Treasurer Krishna Prasad Timalsina for filing a writ petition in the Supreme Court demanding the legalization of the 11th general convention. The meeting was conducted by General Secretary Gauriraj Joshi.
