London: Dr. Badri KC, President of the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA), held discussions with a British Member of Parliament regarding the issues and opportunities faced by Nepalis in the UK.
On Wednesday, Dr. KC discussed matters concerning the Nepali diaspora in Gloucestershire with British MP Cameron Thomas and Councillor Graham Bucking.
Dr. KC stated that the meeting with the MP was very significant and fruitful. During the meeting, Dr. KC urged support on various issues, including the challenges faced by the Nepali community in the UK, the ongoing movement for equal pensions and rights by the Gurkhas, and the historic relationship between Nepal and the UK.
MP Cameron Thomas acknowledged the historic relationship between Nepal and the UK and praised the contributions of Nepalis who have served in the British Army. In the meeting, MP Thomas expressed his commitment to work collaboratively with the Non-Resident Nepali Association.
Dr. KC, who arrived in the UK last Saturday, has scheduled an interaction with the Nepali community in Scotland on Thursday. Vice President of the Non-Resident Nepali Association, Rojina Pradhan Rai, Secretary Tika Gurung, and Advisor Hiradhan Rai also participated in the meeting.
