London – The scheduled program for Nepal’s Ambassador to the UK, Chandra Kumar Ghimire, to present his credentials to King Charles III was halted at the last moment.

According to Deputy Chief of Mission at the Nepalese Embassy in London, Bipin Duwadi, Buckingham Palace postponed the event citing special reasons.

“We were initially given a time slot of 12:40 PM on Thursday, which was later changed to 3:40 PM. We reached the palace prepared, but at the last moment, the event was called off for special reasons,” Duwadi told NepalBritain.com.

He mentioned that ambassadors from Bangladesh and Somalia were also scheduled to present their credentials alongside Nepal, but the event was postponed for all of them simultaneously.

Ambassador Ghimire has been leading the Nepalese Embassy in London since January.

Traditionally, after presenting credentials, a reception is held at the Nepalese Embassy, but the embassy has announced that this event has also been canceled.
