Aldershot – The Magar Association UK has announced it will host the 18th edition of the Nepali Open Concert in 2026 at Rushmoor Arena, Aldershot, under the theme “Music for Unity.” The annual event aims to celebrate Nepali culture while strengthening community ties through music and shared heritage.
First launched in 2007, the Nepali Open Concert has become one of the most prominent cultural gatherings for the Nepali diaspora in the United Kingdom. Organisers say the 2026 edition will continue this tradition by bringing together a wide range of artists and audiences for an inclusive and culturally enriching experience.
This year’s programme will feature a blend of traditional and contemporary Nepali music, showcasing both established performers and emerging talents from Nepal and the diaspora. The event is designed to appeal to audiences of all generations, highlighting the diversity and vibrancy of Nepali musical expression.
According to the organisers, the concert aims to promote Nepali heritage, engage the community across the UK, and provide a platform for artists to showcase their talents. By uniting people through music, the event seeks to foster stronger relationships within the Nepali community and encourage ongoing participation in cultural activities.
The lineup includes well-known performers such as Mantra Band, Nita Kumari Thapa Magar, winner of The Voice of Nepal Season 7, Gobin Pun, a semi-finalist from Season 3, and Punam Gurung, the second runner-up of Season 7. Other artists set to perform include Sabina Budha, Rusma (Rupi) Sinjali, and Samjhana Bhandari. The event will also highlight emerging talents, including winners of the 8th Magar Got Talent, Alisha Pun and Pratima Pun.
Rushmoor Arena, located on Rushmoor Road in Aldershot, is easily accessible by public transport, with nearby train stations including Aldershot, North Camp, and Farnborough Main, as well as local bus services. Organisers have noted that children must be accompanied by an adult, and pets will not be allowed at the venue.
The Magar Association UK, a registered charity in England and Wales, continues to play a key role in promoting Nepali and Magar culture across the country. Through initiatives such as the Nepali Open Concert, the organisation supports cultural preservation, community engagement, and the strengthening of connections within the Nepali diaspora.
