NRNA Urges Govt To Sort Out Citizenship Issue

A delegation of Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) on Tuesday met Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba and drew his attention towards the pending Non-Resident Nepali citizenship bill in the parliament.

The delegation led by its president Kumar Panta also wished for the successful tenure of Prime Minister Deuba.
Recalling the NRNA’s cooperation with the government so far, Panta drew his attention to resolve the issues of Non-Resident Nepali citizenship.

Similarly, Panta urged the government of Nepal to introduce programme as soon as possible to rescue the Nepali workers stranded abroad and rehabilitate them back in home.

Likewise, former president of the Association Jiba Lamichhane drew the attention of Prime Minister Deuba towards the hunger strike being staged by the British Gurkhas in the UK and urged him to take diplomatic initiative with the British government to solve their problems.

On the occasion, Prime Minister Deuba expressed his commitment to resolving the issues, including Non-resident Nepali citizenship bill as soon as possible as per the provision of the Constitution.

Vice Presidents of the Association Sonam Lama, Rabina Thapa, Coordinator of the Health Committee under the NRNA Dr. Sanjiv Sapkota, Executive Chief of the Association Rajesh Rana and others were present during the meeting.
