KATHMANDU: President Ram Chandra Paudel has appointed Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) parliamentary leader Balendra Shah (Balen) as Nepal’s Prime Minister. Under Article 76(1) of the Constitution, he was named the leader of the RSP parliamentary party that has the majority in the House of Representatives.Nepal travel guide
According to the President’s Office, Shah is scheduled to take the oath of office and secrecy today at 12:34 PM.
Alongside him, new ministers will also be sworn in. Sources say RSP has finalized Swarnim Wagle as Finance Minister, Shisir Khanal as Minister for Foreign Affairs, and Sudan Gurung as Minister for Home Affairs.
In addition, the cabinet is expected to include Pratibha Rawal as Minister for Federal Affairs and General Administration, Ganesh Paudel as Minister for Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation, and Amresh Kumar Singh as Minister for Industry, Commerce, and Supplies.
Likewise, Sunil Lamsal is set to assume responsibility for the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport, according to sources.
